RNA (Reserve Not Attained)
Also called: reserve not attained, buy-back
RNA stands for 'reserve not attained' — at auction, a horse that went through the ring but did not reach the seller's confidential minimum ('reserve') price, so it did not actually sell.
Sellers set a reserve to protect a horse from selling too cheap. If bidding stops below it, the horse is announced sold but is really a buy-back by the consignor and is reported as an RNA. RNAs are common and aren't necessarily a knock on the horse.
